There are few things I care about more than connecting with my community. I love being able to give back when I can and support the local organizations that work tirelessly to serve those who need it most.

That’s why I’m spotlighting a few of my favorite local nonprofits and organizations this time of year! They deserve our thanks and support for everything they do to make Kosciusko County a warm and welcoming place to live.

Cardinal Services

Cardinal Services of Indiana holds a special place in my heart as they are a transformative force within our community. Witnessing their dedication to empowering individuals with disabilities has profoundly impacted my perspective on inclusivity and the limitless potential that resides in every person.

Cardinal Services goes beyond providing essential services; they create pathways to independence and fulfillment. The organization’s commitment to tailoring support to the unique needs of each individual fosters an environment where everyone can thrive.

Whether through vocational training, residential services, or community engagement initiatives, Cardinal Services champions the right of every person to lead a life of purpose and dignity.

I’ve seen firsthand the positive ripple effects of Cardinal Services on the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families. Their emphasis on skill development, social integration, and advocacy creates a supportive ecosystem that not only meets immediate needs but also lays the foundation for a more inclusive society.

Supporting Cardinal Services means contributing to a community where diversity is celebrated and everyone is given the opportunity to live life on their terms.

It’s about recognizing the inherent value in every individual and working together to build a world that embraces and uplifts every member.

The Salvation Army

Participating in The Salvation Army bell ringing has become a cherished tradition for me during the holiday season. It’s more than just the jingling sound of the bell; it’s a heartfelt way to contribute to a cause that uplifts our community’s most vulnerable members.

As a volunteer bell ringer, I’ve witnessed the generosity of passersby who, with a smile or a friendly nod, drop their spare change or bills into the red kettle. It’s a reminder that even small acts of kindness can collectively make a significant impact.

The Salvation Army’s commitment to providing shelter, warmth, and meals for those in need is mirrored in our community’s generosity.

Bell ringing is a tangible way to be part of something bigger and to create positive change during a season that emphasizes giving. The funds raised directly support families facing hardships, ensuring they have a brighter and warmer holiday season.

It’s a simple yet powerful act of spreading joy and kindness, making the bell-ringing experience fulfilling for those involved and a tangible expression of the holiday spirit for our entire community.

This year, I was able to be a bellringer on December 9 at the Warsaw Walmart, and I want to give a big thank you to all the folks who came out and donated!

Join Me In Supporting Our Local Nonprofits!

I’ve been a part of the Kosciusko County community since 1977, and I truly love this area.

Seeing how much nonprofits and other organizations give back to and support our community members is inspiring, and I hope you join me by getting involved this holiday season.
